Abstract

Researchers at Tampere University explore and propose solutions for tackling the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and responding to its effects at the societal and individual levels. The sub-applications approach the challenge from multidisciplinary perspectives. The research results will not only support informed policymaking but also shed light on the individual and collective experiences of the changes caused by the outbreak. In addition, the results will increase our understanding on the mechanisms underlying the behaviour of the coronavirus. Our researchers will create models that elucidate the behaviour of the virus and pave the way for the improved treatment of patients with COVID-19. Tampere University is also involved in the development of a coronavirus vaccine in an effort to prevent similar future epidemics.
