Abstract

The aim is to work in partnership with five Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan for knowledge sharing between Western clinicians and traditional medicinal people toward the prevention, reversal, and cure of diabetes and COVID prevention. Traditional medicine and Knowledge Keepers will work with nurses, physicians, diabetologist to develop a comprehensive diabetic prevention program for implementation and Elders will work toward supporting immune system development for COVID-9 prevention. The Knowledge Keepers will council and inform band members of the work and will drive the program to deliver and adhere to traditional lifestyles and diets, in partnership with Western medical approaches.
