Abstract

This study will evaluate whether administration of plasma containing antibodies against COVID-19, collected from people who have recovered from the infection, is safe and improves outcomes for patients admitted to hospital or intensive care with COVID-19. In partnership with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, we will establish the process to collect, test and administer the convalescent plasma. We will then test whether it is safe and effective in two large, multicentre, national clinical trials.
