Abstract

Lifeline is Australia's national 24-hour crisis service for the general community. It featured heavily in the Australian Government's communications to encourage Australians to seek mental health support during COVID-19, with contacts surging 25 percent. This research aims to boost Lifeline's capacity by using artificial intelligence to enhance its ability to respond rapidly and effectively to emerging community mental health crises.
