Abstract

The SO-VIET-BAT project foresees field studies in order to provide information on the seasonal variations of bat assemblages in the caves of North Vietnam; seasonal detection of Sarbecoviruses in bats sampled between April and October 2021 at these sites; the comparative phylogeography of horseshoe bat species identified as reservoir hosts for Sarbecoviruses; the role of genomic recombination on the barrier jump of host species; and finally the potential impact of anthropogenic climate change on the circulation of viruses between species of bats.
