Abstract
This research project examines the reliability and ethical consequences of AI and statistical models in the mitigation of the COVID-19 crisis. It results in four case studies in the fields of epidemiology, logistics, education and humanitarianism, as well as a symposium on the trustworthiness and instability of modeling techniques. The project contributes to understanding the societal impact of AI and statistical models at a point where their influence on economics, culture and politics seems to become ubiquitous.
