Abstract
How strong will global solidarity and international financial cooperation be during the Covid crisis? This project takes an international perspective and studies cross-border financial assistance ("rescue lending") by official creditors such as governments, central banks or the IMF to crisis countries in need. The resulting paper and novel database will provide unique insights on how the multilateral system responded to the Covid pandemic, also compared to earlier crises and disasters such as the Great Depression of the 1930s, the World Wars, or the 2008/09 financial crisis.
