Abstract
This project investigates the impact of the pandemic on maritime labor, based on ethnographic fieldwork in German ports with seafarers and actors of different maritime institutions. Furthermore, its intention is to shed light on seafarers as relevant people to ensuring the flow of medical supplies, fossil fuels, food and essential commodities, while they are suffering greatly from the Covid-19 outbreak and their plight has gone unnoticed in the current global crisis.
