Abstract

People with major mental illness are at significantly higher risk for contracting and contributing to greater spread of COVID-19. This Enhancement will contribute timely information, adding to a scant knowledge base, about the needs and outcomes of this health-disparity group by evaluating a tailored three-session COVID-19 intentional skills training module compared to phone-based generic support within the parent comparative effectiveness study. This addresses the need to optimize preventive skills and health behaviors during future acute viral infectious disease outbreaks as well as the immediate COVID-19 pandemic.
