Abstract
Given the surge of hospitalizations among COVID-19 patients in the United States, healthcare professionals and health system leaders are facing significant uncertainty in decision making due to a lack of evidence-based decision support tools. The study team proposed three enhancement aims to develop prediction models to plan for resource need and to inform clinical and health system decision making that could improve outcomes for patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Specifically, the team will develop models to predict three primary outcomes among hospitalized COVID-19 patients: intensive care unit need, the risk of mortality, and the course and outcome of intubation.
