Abstract

Antiviral, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antibacterial effects have been demonstrated for gold compounds in preclinical and clinical studies in recent years. The aim of the project is the clinical development of such a known gold compound (aurothioglucose) for the treatment of severe, acute respiratory distress syndrome (SARS), which is caused by the coronavirus, until it is marketable.
