Abstract
There are 10 million cases and 1.5 million deaths from TB annually. The COVID-19 pandemic has interrupted TB diagnosis and treatment in high TB-burden settings. This increases the risk of drug-resistant TB and threatens TB control. To improve TB service resilience to crises, we need to understand the impact of different factors on service delivery, including lockdown restrictions, healthcare worker illness, resources diversion and logistic interruption, including of personal protective equipment. We will conduct interviews with TB care-providers and patients and gather evidence to quantify the COVID-19 impact on TB services to develop recommendations for service delivery in future emergencies.
