Abstract
The aim of the project is to determine at an early stage whether and to what extent supply bottlenecks for services of general interest in the food sector may arise due to measures to combat the coronavirus (e.g. border closings). The result is a validated data pool based on information from Austrian food wholesalers. SPAR, HOFER, REWE and others provide relevant data on procurement strategies and the logistics chain from the original source to the customer. Missing data can be collected through surveys (e.g. sensor technology), expert interviews or random samples. This data pool is created as a basis for and in close cooperation with experts for forecast and optimization models.
