Abstract

To conduct actuarial analyses of various policies related to health insurance coverage and the cost and affordability of health care, for example (1) federal and state public options; (2) changes in the provider-pricing structure, including improved transparency; and (3) additional potential topics, including cost trends, alternative purchasing strategies, and the use of health reimbursement arrangements, which reimburse employees for out-of-pocket medical expenses and personal health insurance premiums.
