Abstract
The USP network is made up of 5 centers dedicated to performing molecular diagnostic tests for the detection of COVID-19 in the State of São Paulo: two in the capital, one in Ribeirão Preto, one in Bauru and another in Pirassununga. Molecular tests are based on the detection, by real-time PCR, of the genetic material of the virus and, consequently, allow the identification of individuals carrying the virus, being considered the gold standard test. This information is crucial, particularly at this time, for confronting the epidemic.
