Abstract
Assuming that the PFF2/N95 respirator is a disposable PPE, it could only be reused in situations where reuse is better than nothing. However, currently there are no publications with scientific evidence that any disinfection method is effectively safe. Therefore, urgent research must be encouraged on these masks, such as: the duration of the filtering capacity, measures to extend their useful life and the possible creation of a material that can be reusable, minimizing costs and aiming at sustainability. Developing this prototype is our main goal. After prototyping and approval of the product, the technology for making the masks, with the possibility of reuse, can be transferred free of charge and carried out by other health institutions. Organizations that often work in situations with few technological resources may benefit from equipment that is easy to access, low cost, and with greater protection power. We intend, therefore, that this initiative will contribute to reducing inequalities and promoting socioeconomic development.
