Abstract

Particulate matter (PM2.5) from pollution in the city of São Paulo was collected and is being prepared for a series of tests with human cells. The sequence of experiments will: 1) evaluate cell viability in the presence of pollutants (including alteration of gene expression), 2) evaluate the effect of pollutants on viral viability, 3) measure the effect of pollutants on viral infection, by infection of cells pre-exposed to pollutants.
