Abstract

To investigate why people with comorbidities such as hypertension and diabetes are more likely to develop severe COVID, we investigated transcriptome data from lung and other tissues from patients with these diseases. The objective was to verify whether the expression of ACE2 and other genes necessary for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection was increased in patients with this disease. We submitted the first article to the Journal of Infectious Diseases and posted it in the repository: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.21.20040261v1#disqus_thread
