Abstract

Together with the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the University of Cambridge is leading the national COVID-19 Genomics UK (COG-UK) consortium, created to deliver large-scale and rapid whole-genome virus sequencing to local NHS centres and the UK government. Funded by a £20 million investment from UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the Wellcome Trust, COG-UK is an innovative partnership between NHS organisations, the four Public Health Agencies of the UK, and over twelve academic partners providing sequencing and analysis capacity.
