Abstract
General practitioner care has been under pressure for years. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the workload has increased even more and ways are being sought to reduce that pressure. Research shows that a patient portal results in less telephone pressure, better streamlining of processes within the practice and the ability to better distribute the workload. In addition, it is known that the more patients use the patient portal, the greater this effect. The current registration percentage of the patient population in this general practice is almost 40% and not every patient actively uses the portal. The goal is to scale up the active use of the patient portal, which means that more patients will request e-consults, view their lab online and make appointments online.
