Abstract
The European Social Survey (ESS) is an academically led and methodologically rigorous study of changing social attitudes and values in 35 European countries. Established in 2002, ESS has swiftly become the authoritative source of reliable data about Europe's evolving social fabric. In addition to the core questions about public trust, political participation, health, social exclusion and inequality, each round of ESS also includes questions on current issues. The 10th round of ESS will ask how the European citizens experience the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. Hereby, ESS continues to provide comparative data that is crucial in the work of governments, NGOs, journalists and researchers to understand and formulate new incentives that improve the social life in Europe.
