Abstract

The disease burden of COVID-19 among residents of retirement and nursing homes (RNH) is high; depending on the country, 30-50% of COVID-19-associated deaths were measured in long-term institutions. In Europe, RNHs are the most common setting for COVID-19-related outbreaks. Little is known about the risk factors associated with a high disease burden in these institutions.
