Abstract

The One Health aspect of COVID-19 affected households with pets as virus hosts and potential reservoirs, as well as their influencing factors, have not yet been sufficiently researched. So far, recommendations on how to deal with animals in or from COVID-19 environments are mainly based on assumptions. Pets have a great importance in our society. People live closely together with their animals and pets play an important role in people's mental and physical well-being, especially during the pandemic and lockdown situation. Therefore, assessing potential risks and the impact of hygiene measures is important as a basis for evidence-based recommendations, to prevent adverse reactions from pet owners and to create guidelines for professionals regarding the handling and diagnosis of potentially infected animals.The project will collect important field data on the prevalence and significance of SARS-CoV-2 in a One Health aspect...
