Abstract

Learning Villages International Network working on European Citizenship (LVIN-C) is a project from an emerging network of Learning Villages aiming to exchange good practices in participative democracy and active citizenship enhancement. LVIN-C is focused on less favored territories impacted by depopulation and demographic fragility to reinforce responsible inclusive, citizenship, participative democracy, and environmental commitment. While LVIN has broader objectives, LVIN-C aims to promote active European Citizenship, community engagement, gender impact assessment, environmental education and the values and principles of the New European Bauhaus. Best practices will be exchanged at local and international levels within all of these elements. LVIN is an on growing network open to every organization and people interested in supporting rural development, active citizenship and quality of life through education, creativity and innovation. LVIN is formed by Municipalities, Universities, NGOs, SMEs in less favored villages and territories. Learning by doing and learning by educational projects play a crucial role in these processes where the raise of awareness about the opportunity offered by the green transformation and the recovery post COVID-19 pandemic is fundamental. LVIN-C is composed of a network of more than ten initial villages from more than five countries, ranging 250-12000 population. These pilot learning villages will join to develop educational and cultural packages on: - active citizenship, gender equality, participatory budget, digital citizenship and environmental education. - innovative social and technological tools and models. - strategic thinking, project management and long term planning. - environmental social awareness, community decision and action (specially in times of pandemics and health emergencies). - health and wellbeing and active ageing for elder
