Abstract

RE-ARE-ACT seeks to foster reflexions on the main impacts the COVID 19 has had at the local level in the life of the city and in particular for the younger generations, especially in terms of wellbeing and mental health. It proposes the exchange among the civil servants and the young local population of eight countries in Europe, for the resilience and restructuring of society with a citizen-oriented focus in an equality scenario. For this purpose, it proposes activities that foster discussion and debate among local public employees, youngsters and stakeholders at a peer-to-peer level. The actions will create a long-lasting relation among participants as the project proposes to make a roadmap for a common vision based on the best practices identified. The project outputs will concentrate on: the identification of the existing gaps in public administration services and youth needs (Desk Research, SWOT, Questionnaires, etc), the collection of best practices (RE-ACT Map, Workshop, local maps of key agents, etc) and discussion or training activities (peer-to-peer encounters, webinars, debates, etc). The target group is youth between 15 and 30 years old, with special attention to people from vulnerable groups. Local authorities and public employees will also be benefited by the project being improved their abilities and knowledge on the topic and strengthening their relationship with stakeholders and key groups. RE-ACT aims to involve at least 120 participants from the eight partner towns between public employees, local youngsters and stakeholders, plus a 50% of indirect participants. Youngsters from the participant towns will benefit from a better and more targeted service from their municipalities and therefore a quicker recovery of their fundamental rights such as access to housing, employment or high education. European values and trust in EU and local institutions are expected to improve, too, having as a consequence a higher engagement in participative processes.
