Abstract

The general objective of the project is to foster collaboration between farmers, public institutions, NGOs, and academics to propose and disseminate innovative solutions for tackling the pandemics impact. Partners will exchange innovative approaches between countries to share best practices across the whole agricultural sector. The project's specific objectives are: 1. To identify and assess the information needs and limitations in partner countries which affect farming and agriculture sector management and decision-making in the context of pandemics. 2. To review and summarize various actions governments took to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on the agricultural sector, including monitoring, preparedness measures for next waves of pandemics and strategies to cope with the pandemics. 3. To evaluate the current means of communication of various information and services to the farming community in different regions of the EU, and, provide ways and means to implement new and/or appropriate tools for dissemination of timely and relevant information. 4. To promote new and innovative techniques for better awareness and utilization of pandemics informational knowledge for agricultural decision-making. The target group of the project are smallholder farmers from 6 partners from 5 European countries (RO, SL, PL, HU, HR).
