Abstract
The European Women's Lobby (EWL) is the largest umbrella organisation of women's associations in Europe, bringing together more than 2,000 women's organisations and diverse women and girls. The EWL sets the agenda for gender equality and women's rights in Europe, introducing decision-makers at national and EU level to a feminist dimension and a women's perspective on a variety of topics including gender mainstreaming, gender budgeting, feminist economics, the continuum of violence against women, sexual exploitation, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, and digitalisation. EWL's objectives for 2022 will be: 1. Develop planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes for EWL's next Strategic framework 2. Strengthen internal cooperation and ways of working. 3. Advocate for the implementation and monitoring of commitments in the EU Strategy on Gender Equality, in the context of COVID including in particular gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting in the EU budgets and recovery funds. 4. Building on EWL's Purple Pact, develop recommendations and advocate for a "Care Deal for Europe" 5. Advocate for a comprehensive legal framework on male violence against women and girls (VAWG), particularly towards an EU Directive on all forms of VAWG, including sexual exploitation and online violence. 6. Resource the delivery of the Work Programme in 2022. As a result, we expect to have: influenced decision-makers on women's rights and ensured EWL's recommendations on the impacts of COVID-19 on women, VAWG, gender budgeting and mainstreaming are taken on board; strengthened members' engagements and external partnerships; achieved Financial Resilience and Sustainability targets; developed planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes for the new strategic framework; enabled spaces for reflection, sharing and capture impact.
