Abstract

Genomics has been essential to track recent pandemics, including those of COVID-19, Ebola, and drug-resistant bacteria. This project will develop methods to integrate epidemiological and genomic data, for a comprehensive system of infectious disease surveillance that will constantly update estimates of pathogen introductions and infectious spread. Implementation of these techniques in public health will dramatically increase the value of information for pandemic preparedness and mitigation.
