Abstract

This project aims to investigate the role of the spike protein of the COVID-19 virus in binding antibodies and host cells. The project will use new knowledge to develop a Single Molecular Antigen Rapid Test (SMART). Expected outcomes include a better understanding of virus functions and their structural correlation at the molecular level, being able to visualise spike-induced cellular interactions, and a device that can detect multiple virus antigens, sensitively and very efficiently.
