Abstract

Genomic sequences of viruses provide valuable epidemiological information about infections spread and control. Since the end of 2019 emerging SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks challenge healthcare system as well as whole economics in the world as well as in Estonia. KoroGeno-Est aims to sequence the majority of Estonian SARS-CoV-2 genomes. Sequence information will be used for describing Estonian coronavirus diversity, evolution and spreading networks. Data will be shared with Estonian health authorities to complement the construction and analysis of close-contact network. The proportion and origin of new viral strains introduced to Estonia will be also identified.
