Abstract

For higher education institutions to thrive, a culture of integrity in academia should be considered of utmost importance. Therefore, higher education institutions have agreed to promote and support academic integrity and to effectively address student academic misconduct, particularly plagiarism, collusion and contract cheating. The current qualitative study aims to explore how academic staff understand and apply academic ethics in different aspects of their daily work and to capture their tools of academic ethics. During the COVID-19 pandemic academic staff faced new challenges in their work, which required rapid adaptation to teaching about virtual environments. The study will focus on the new situation and its impact on academic ethics.
