Abstract

An earlier ZonMW-Final research looked at how stressful COVID-19 experiences are related to social media use and authenticity of young people. A negative relationship was found, but no difference between boys and girls. In this follow -up investigation we will elaborate on this and we look for possible explanations. We investigate whether personal factors (such as stress, loneliness and health) and environmental factors (such as social support) influence the relationship between social media and authenticity differently in boys and girls.
