Abstract
This project aims to develop drug candidates against flavivirus infections. Flaviviruses are transmitted to humans by insect bites and can cause severe infectious diseases. Many arboviruses circulate in Australia with the potential of explosive future outbreaks. This project will target viral enzymes called proteases which are essential for viral replication. The project aims to develop different types of protease inhibitors that may be active against a whole range of flaviviruses.
