Abstract
In the last two years, dengue has soared (greater than17 million infections/13,000 deaths). It is endemic in SE Asia and with climate change, there's concern it may establish in Australia. Travel-related cases are rising and mosquitoes that can spread the virus exist in northern Australia. Here with researchers from Thailand and Japan we will apply advanced methods to map the immune response to dengue to better understand why some patients go on to develop life threatening dengue haemorrhagic fever.
