Abstract
CEPI committed initial funding of up to US$3.2 million to IAVI to generate a Master Virus Seed stock and initiate testing using material originally developed at The University of Texas Medical Branch. The candidate uses the rVSV vaccine platform that forms the basis of an approved WHO-prequalified vaccine against Zaire ebolavirus. The programme aims to rapidly advance development of a Bundibugyo ebolavirus vaccine candidate towards clinical evaluation during the ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda.
