Abstract
CEPI committed up to US$50 million to Moderna to support preclinical testing and Phase 1 clinical trials of a Bundibugyo ebolavirus vaccine candidate. Funding will also support simultaneous manufacturing of doses to allow rapid progression to large-scale Phase 2/3 studies if early clinical results are successful. The vaccine candidate uses Moderna's mRNA platform and builds upon existing research on related Ebola viruses.
