Abstract
Eawag continuously analyzes wastewater samples from 10 wastewater treatment plants in Switzerland for gene fragments of respiratory viruses (SARS-CoV-2, influenza viruses, and respiratory syncytial viruses [RSV]) as well as possibly for antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The goal is to estimate the development of pathogen circulation (prevalence) in the population. The findings are published in an appropriate manner.
