Abstract

To assess whether the COVID-19 pandemic had an effect on the vaccination coverage of children and adolescents, and whether the vaccination recommendations against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTP) adapted in 2019 are being implemented as recommended, the standard vaccination rates calculated as part of the cantonal vaccination monitoring are insufficient on their own. Therefore, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) commissioned additional, more in-depth analyses. The objectives of these analyses are: 1. To determine the trends in DTP uptake for 2-year-old children between 2017-2019 and 2020-2022. 2. To evaluate the vaccination coverage rates of selected vaccines before the pandemic and compare them with the vaccination coverage rates during and after the pandemic.
