Abstract

The study provides insights into the utilization of pediatric health services during the pandemic, which are relevant for post-pandemic health management and similar future circumstances. Specifically, it examined: 1. the utilization of pediatric primary and emergency care during the COVID-19 pandemic, measured by the number of consultations, compared to pre-pandemic utilization; 2. age-specific patterns regarding non-utilization in general and in relation to diagnostic groups, elective physician or emergency visits during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to pre-pandemic primary or tertiary care utilization; 3. the relationship between pediatric care utilization, the severity of containment measures, and the epidemiological course of the pandemic.
