Abstract
At the request of the Federal Council, the Federal Chancellery commissioned an evaluation of crisis management during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on a recommendation from this evaluation, the Federal Council instructed the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) in the summer of 2022 to evaluate the federal vaccination campaign (specifically regarding vaccine promotion and increasing willingness to be vaccinated) and to report back to the Federal Council in 2023 with findings and recommendations for future health crises. Alongside this mandate, the "vaccine promotion" component of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Seasonal Influenza (GRIPS) 2015-2018 (extended to 2020) was also evaluated. The findings were intended to identify opportunities for improvement, particularly with a view to enhancing vaccination literacy, willingness to be vaccinated, and vaccination coverage rates.
