Abstract
Covid-19 is challenging society, politics, and the economy on an unprecedented scale. Research is also being called upon. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) has been conducting a population survey, the so-called Social Monitor. Starting with the survey wave running in the week of May 25, 2020, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) is participating in the Social Monitor with questions about behavioral addictions and the use of sleeping pills and tranquilizers. The FOPH hopes to gain insights into the influence of crises on public behavior.
