Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vulnerability of small Caribbean islands during the early stages of infectious disease outbreaks. Limited laboratory capacity, fragmented data flows and limited capacity within public health care can lead to delays in signaling and decision-making. FFX-Light builds on the collaboration within the Dutch Caribbean Public Health Expertise Network (DuCaPHEN) to strengthen preparedness for future outbreaks.
