Abstract

Children respond differently to infections than adults. For example, some children developed a severe inflammatory response after COVID-19. Relatively common cold viruses, such as RSV, can also be life-threatening in young children. It is therefore essential to quickly collect reliable information about seriously ill children in hospitals during outbreaks.
